Today, there are tons of operating systems, also known as OSs.  Windows is the most popular, but now that Apple computers can run Windows, more people are using the Macintosh OS X operating system.  Then, there’s Linux, which most geeks swear by, and which more and more non-technical people are picking up.  And there are tons of types (called “distributions”) of Linux.  Ubuntu, SuSE, and Red Hat are just a few of the more popular ones.  How do you learn about all of this?  That’s why this blog was created.
